Water or alcoholic lotion containing a dissolved powder. Classification of topical formulations Solution Manufacturers interpret the definitions in various ways so a similar preparation might be called lotion, gel or cream. The table below describes different formulations. The vehicle usually contains water, oil, alcohol or propylene glycol mixed with preservatives, emulsifiers, absorption promoters and fragrances. Topical formulations contain an active ingredient, often a medication or drug or botanical, and a vehicle. It takes 20–30 g of cream or ointment to cover an adult's total body once. One fingertip unit covers one side of 2 flat hands, and one gram covers both sides of the patient’s two hands. The fingertip unit (0.5 g) is a guide to the amount of a cream or ointment needed to treat an area for a certain time. It depends on:Įxpect 1 g of cream to spread out over a 10-cm 2 area of skin an ointment spreads a little further. How much topical medication to prescribe can challenge the most experienced dermatologist. Minor differences in the formulation may make surprising differences to the effectiveness of a topical medication.
There are no specific rules to adhere to when designing a Twitch overlay other than ensuring it complements the stream instead of taking attention away from it. If you feel like the overlay occupies too much screen space and makes your stream more difficult to watch, consider resizing certain elements and reducing their opacity to make them transparent. If the game you stream the most features many details (like most MMORPGs), it’s probably best to keep your overlay minimal so the viewers won’t be distracted. Notice how his entire stream matches his team’s color, making it visually appealing and consistent.Īfter finishing the face cam design, you can move on to the extras, such as banners and subscriber count areas. Take a look at this example from a world-famous Counter-Strike streamer, S1mple. Place a border around the face cam area and use a combination of colors that match the theme of your channel. Once you are happy with the layout, start designing the various elements. It’s also a good idea to create a quick, simple sketch before you start designing to ensure the layout will be intuitive for your viewers. You will often see streamers switching their layouts based on the game they’re playing to ensure the best possible viewing experience for their audience. This also applies to CS:GO streamers who can’t cover the top-left corner because of the radar. When creating a Twitch Overlay, it’s a good idea to take a screenshot of your stream, then use this screenshot as a background to get a better sense of where each element should be placed.Īs different layouts work better for different games, it’s worth repeating this process for all the games you play.įor example, Dota 2 streamers can’t place their face cam or any other overlay element in the bottom-left corner because viewers won’t be able to see the minimap, which is an important part of the game. This approach allows for greater customization and creative freedom. However, if you don’t like using presets, you can always create a unique overlay using programs such as Adobe Photoshop. For the technical aspect, there are many useful websites to help you do it without any previous Photoshop experience or design knowledge.Įxamples of these websites include Own3d, Canva, and Placeit. How To Create A Twitch OverlayĬreating a Twitch overlay might sound daunting at first, but rest assured, you don’t need to be a professional graphics designer to do it well.Ī Twitch overlay can be created by anyone willing to invest the necessary time and creativity into the process. With that said, let’s take a look at how you can create an overlay for your channel. This is far more welcoming than showing a black screen while switching to a different game, for example.Īttracting new viewers is much easier when your stream immediately suggests effort and dedication. Your stream will look much nicer and more professional when there’s something on your screen at all times for viewers to look at. Overlays are also great for taking a break from playing, switching a scene, or simply setting the mood for what’s coming next on your stream. Some Twitch streamers prefer to have just a few overlay elements on their screen, while others go into greater detail and come up with more intricate designs. There are no set rules when creating an overlay for your stream, so feel free to come up with a design you think suits your content the most. An overlay often contains a place for the face cam, game title, song name, subscriber count, name of the newest follower, name of the most recent donator, and more. A Twitch overlay consists of multiple graphics used to give better structure to a stream. Sit quietly, hold your crystal and clear your mind of unrelated thoughts. I also suggest that you clear the stone of any previous programming while you cleanse it. You can use the gemstone healing properties listed on this website for guidance, or your own intuition as to which stone would best serve the purpose you have in mind.Ĭleanse your chosen stone (or stones) with whichever method you prefer. For example choose a calming stone for letting go of stress or an energizing stone to promote action. Think about what you want from your stone and carefully formulate your intention.Ĭhoose a stone that resonates with the intention you desire. To do this, I suggest following these steps. While it is not essential to program your gemstones to gain benefit from their healing properties, you can do so if you wish to focus the stones' energy on something specific. The following, more common crystals, are considered safe to cleanse in water:Īgate, Amethyst, Aventurine, Clear Quartz, Citrine, Red Jasper, Rose Quartz, Smokey Quartz, Snow Quartz, Tiger Eye Crystals that are very soft tend to scratch or flake easily, whilst others contain metals and/or toxins, causing them to rust or become toxic. Some crystals are perfectly safe to cleanse in water, however there are many that are not. However you must remember to regularly cleanse and re-energize the quartz cluster to ensure it retains its cleansing and re-energizing powers. Placing your stones on a large quartz cluster will clear negative energies and re-energize the stones. Always thank the Universe, and/or your Angels, after doing this. Place bigger stones close to the bowl, then set your intentions and play the bowl for a few minutes.įocus your mental energies on your crystals and ask the Universe, or your Angels, to cleanse the stones of all negative energies and to re-energize them for their maximum potential. If the stones are small you may put them into the singing bowl. This will clear the stones of all negative energy. Simply burn the smudge stick or incense and pass your stones through the smoke. You can use sage (white sage is popular), sweet grass, sandalwood or even incense to smudge your crystals. Smudging is a very efficient way of cleansing gemstones. Make sure you dispose of the rice afterwards. You can place your stones in a bowl of brown rice. Leave for approximately 24 hours and then gently pat dry, or leave to air dry. Place some natural sea salt into a glass bowl, add purified water and your gemstones. Only use this method on harder stones, and (as with the running water), if you are unsure whether your stones are water safe, use a different cleansing method. Only use glass bowls when cleansing and charging gemstones with salt.Īgain, (as with the sea salt method), I find this to be harsh on some of the softer stones. Make sure you dispose of the salt so it is not used again. The sea salt will absorb all negative energies from the stones, leaving them cleansed and re-energized. Put your stones into the small bowl and leave overnight for approximately 24 hours. Fill the large bowl with sea salt and place the smaller bowl into this. Instead, I use two glass bowls - one larger than the other. For this reason, many people like to place their gemstones directly into a bowl of natural sea salt, however I find this to sometimes be too harsh on the softer stones. Sea salt has long been known to have purification properties. Some stones should not be immersed in water, so if you are unsure whether your stones are water safe, use a different cleansing method. Holding your gemstones under clear, purified water will cleanse and recharge them. If the stones are set, or strung into jewelry, it is best to gently cover them with a cloth first, so that small bits of dirt don't get into the fastenings etc. I suggest you leave them for approximately 24 hours. Gemstones & Crystals come from the earth, so placing them directly into the earth will naturally cleanse all negative energies and re-energize them. Be careful though, as some stones will fade in the sunlight. Even when it is cloudy, the sun's rays will still energize the stones. The sun is also a very strong energetic way to cleanse your stones. Even if it is a cloudy night, the moon's rays will still energize the stones. You can place them outside or on a windowsill at these times. If you are Reiki Level 2, you can also use the mental/emotional symbol over your crystals.Ī full moon and a new moon are especially powerful for cleansing and recharging your stones. If you are Reiki Level 1, simply hold a crystal in your hand and Reiki it. Reiki energy will cleanse and energize your crystals. The blue-green land works here too, but I believe you're more likely to want to sideboard black cards in both lists (and Tron has, in fact, already played black cards in the past).Ĭollected Company and Devoted Druid Combo Decks Nurturing Peatlandīoth these decks run (or have run at times) Horizon Canopy just for the green mana, and now they have the chance to add a splash color more easily. At this point, it could play some more dual lands and have white (or green) sideboard options, though that's not necessary. Neither of these are very popular decks, but they likely both want Silent Clearing if they exist.Ĩ Rack is a mono-black deck that would probably want some copies of a canopy land instead of some basics. White-Black Tokens and White-Black Eldrazi The deck even has Crucible of Worlds to work with them in the late game. Whir Prison currently plays four copies of Botanical Sanctum, and some of them will almost definitely become Waterlogged Groves (though four might be excessive). I expect most Spirit lists to adapt their mana base to run Waterlogged Grove instead. Spirits could already play Horizon Canopy (and did, for the most part), but it was a bit awkward because it couldn't cast a turn-one Mausoleum Wanderer. It's possible in the future we see Waterlogged Grove either in addition to or instead of some canopies (the number of canopy lands the deck would want is probably around six if the mana works), and we'll almost definitely see them if the Collected Company version comes back. Most Humans decks currently play two basics and four copies of Horizon Canopy, but we've seen cards like Seachrome Coast before, especially in decks that don't want to play the maximum number of Ancient Ziggurats (because they have sideboard cards or Collected Company). It's no Cephalid Coliseum that the Legacy lists can play, but it's the best we can do, and it also works with Life from the Loam. On top of that, if more people are playing lands that damage them, that's even better for you.ĭredge doesn't have white cards, but it might want Sunbaked Canyon (or Fiery Islet) just for the red mana alone, since extra draws are very valuable once you start dredging. With Burn, you wanted two to four lands but really didn't want five, and canopy lands are perfect for this (so much so that you might want to play more than four). Here's a list of the decks I believe will be happy to play the new canopy lands: Sunbaked Canyonīurn is probably the biggest winner from the new canopy lands, because it was a deck that could use the fixing and at the same time hated to flood out. A deck like Jeskai, however, would play a Fiery Islet turn one, use it for mana every turn of the game, take 6 damage, and then still wouldn't be able to sacrifice it later on because it wants to keep up Snapcaster Mage and Cryptic Command, at which point it's probably not worth playing the card. A deck like Humans will play a Horizon Canopy, use it once or twice, not mind the life loss, and then sacrifice it for value because it has no cards that cost more than three mana. It doesn't have many uses for lands in the mid-late gameįactors 2 and 3 both really incentivize you to play an aggressive strategy rather than a controlling one. Some decks run a lot of fetch lands and can't afford to simply swap an Overgrown Tomb for Nurturing Peatland because they need to be able to fetch their black-green land. And which decks are those?įor a deck to want a " Horizon Canopy," there are usually three characteristics it must meet: However, they will substantially improve the many existing decks that will want to play them. I don't think that, by themselves, these lands create entire new archetypes they are just lands, after all, and the fixing was already there. Hardened Scales, for example, often plays Canopy without any need for white.) These new lands are equally strong and are likely to see heavy play as well. The combination of entering play untapped and adding multiple colors of mana stapled to a utility land makes it very desirable for almost any deck that is interested in green and white mana. Horizon Canopy is a very strong land that sees heavy Modern play. (I'm sure the internet will come up with a suitable name for them, but in the meantime, for the sake of this article, I'm going to refer to them as canopy lands.) My preview article is here today to tell you that, with the release of Modern Horizons, this will no longer be the case. For years, Magic players around the world have looked in jealousy as green-white mages traded useless lands for spells in the late game while they flooded to oblivion. The glaring exception to this has always been Horizon Canopy. Almost every dual land in the game comes from a cycle, either allied, enemy, or both. Forget jumptown, someone could just nuke it from orbit. Events would easily end far quicker than they do now, player bounties would get picked off in an instant, preventing players from being unlawfully aligned, the only fun people would have is in missions that aren't meant to bring players together. Then let's assume that they put it in the game two release before it would be balanced within the world, that would still be at least two months (won't go on sale for aUEC, immediately) where the game was dominated by the Polaris. Let's cut it down to 2 hours a day, and assume it would take a month. (Even Hammerheads make the system feel more sparse when they're properly crewed.) I think the same of all big ships, excluding the 890 Jump, because the current implementation of mechanics just don't support ships with a crew larger than six. I believe the same thing for the Merchantman, I don't think it'll release without the same tech, it just wouldn't be feasible, it would eat up the economy and make the instance feel empty. So until we see major Tech improvements, we won't see Polaris, once we do though, it will probably be the first big ship pushed through though. I don't think it will appear until the alpha supports more than 50 people per instance, because having a Polris on a server would mean that a quarter of the players (assuming it is being crewed properly) are in one ship, and that would ruin the simulated universe. Same reason the Idris isn't in our hands, that's what's keeping it off the roadmap. The Polaris, like I said, loses those spots to other ships, because it just does not fit in the game like other ships do now. After that is production, which yes, they don't have spots for it. They basically said it was in the same shape as the Odyssey, if you're referring to the Polaris. Like I said, it will be a threat at range to any other cap ship and can support a fleet with its radar, hangar bay, and medbay. I love it, own it, and plan to make good use of it. Even small ships can overwhelm it's relatively small shielding if they can outfly the gunners, which honestly isn't that hard. A Tali can tear it a new asshole if it doesn't shoot the tali out of the sky before she gets her torpedos off. In the current state of the game, it is not at all solo or small group friendly since it really needs a decent fleet to keep it from getting picked off by agile and tough ships with big guns like the Redeemer, Ares, or even a Vanguard. It has a very large crew requirement to be combat effective (9 minimum for all guns plus a fighter) and is ultimately crew inefficient for the firepower it offers. It's unique in that it's the only ship in the game so far besides the Javelin with a capital class sensor suite, which means it works great as the center of a fleet as an AWACS ship with minimal ammo/repair/medical support for a small wing of fighters and anti-cap deterrence against large threats that don't currently yet exist in the game except during limited events. What it does have, however, is a higher combat range than any other ship in the game and is one of a handful of ships so far that has a medbay. It's fragile for a capital ship, barely gunned enough to theoretically counter a wing of light fighters, and can bring just a single fighter into the fight to support it. It has a torpedo loadout in line with 4 Talis, turret firepower well below half the potential DPS of a HH with an extra gunner to boot (7 vs HH's 6), and half the shield capacity of an 890, which gets melted by plenty of ships in the game already. It isn't at all like bringing any of what you said above. The ship itself is not OP, it's main driver is useless against all ships under a certain size, so it's just got a lot of turrets, it is okay in PvP, but it's just too capable when compared to the PvE we have now. This is what I say when I don't want to ruin the fun of others, the game work with the ships we have now, adding some of the bigger ones will break balance of the simulated universe. The events will probably evolve to make sure that one ship can't just take care of everything before anyone has a chance to participate. I would presume that it could take out all least 1 Idris alone with it's torpedoes, so it could end half of the final phase before people could even quantum in. It's size 10 torps will make short work of events like Xenothreat. But as it stands, it's like bringing 10x Talis and Hammerhead, and an extra fighter. It won't be OP when it is introduced, because it will be introduced in an environment where it will be balanced. Brock was assigned as a roommate for upper-classman Rusty Venture, who never much saw his future bodyguard except at night, when Brock would bring home a revolving door of female classmates to have sex with, while Rusty laid awake in the bottom bunk of their bunk bed set.īrock's college career ended one fateful afternoon when he accidentally killed Tommy, the team's deaf quarterback, during practice. New York City grew outward from what is now Battery Park and the Financial District, and Greenwich Village was considered a rural retreat north of the city. This Greenwich Village park also has a fascinating history! Before there were park benches and dog runs, this area was fertile farmland surrounded by woodlands and a stream full of fish. If you’re heading south on NYC’s famous Fifth Avenue, you’ll ultimately head right into the Washington Square Arch. The Arch was built in 1892 for the 100th anniversary of George Washington’s inauguration, which happened at Federal Hall in Lower Manhattan. To the north is Waverly Place, the south is West 4th Street, to the east is University Place, and to the West is MacDougal Street.Īt the northern point of the park is the Washington Square Arch. We prefer to use popular Greenwich Village street names instead. But if you ask a local for directions, don’t be surprised if you hear different street names. The rectangle-shaped park is bordered by straightforward street names, Washington Square North, South, East, & West. On any given day, you’ll see artists, musicians, chess players, families, NYU students, poets, and pets all bringing the park to life. However, size doesn’t define Washington Square Park and the impact it’s had not only on Greenwich Village but all of New York City. It’s easy to walk the park from end to end as part of a Greenwich Village visit. Rich with an abundance of history, no trip to New York City’s Greenwich Village is complete without a visit to Washington Square Park.Ĭompared to the 840-acre Central Park, Washington Square Park is tiny at just under 10 acres.
